Very cool. Thanks for posting. I remember Sanger-Harris advertising "Fort Worth Red" lipstick on a giant billboard when Hulen Mall opened. I recall the pizza place, Pietro's I think, on the first floor. My drivers ed group would drive over there for lunch in our drivers ed car while the instructor serenaded us with "You Picked a Fine Time to Leave Me, Loose Wheel." And that Star-Telegram masthead font - hilarious! Yep, looks like the font for the name of a disco - very '70's. And I remember when Hulen Mall opened it looked like it was in the middle of absolutely nowhere. I guess I'm aging myself...

I remember when the mall opened and I went that afternoon. The place has aged very well. I'm pleased with the Dillard's wing addition back in 1994 and the new restaurants on the east side, although the master plan for the mall called for a shorter wing with a department store on the end heading toward Hulen. There's room for another restaurant, possibly two. In-N-Out is going where Larry's Shoes was located.

I agree that the Star-Telgram masthead looks like it came straight from a disco.

Obviously, it was revised down to just the restaurant pads. The original master plan was another wing to the mall with a department store at the end.
