This family fun ride takes a 10 mile loop around Fort Worth.
Learn about how bikes can replace cars for short trips, resulting in cleaner air for all of us!

The first 1,000 people to register will receive a free 2009 Clean Air Bike Rally T-shirt!

HOW TO REGISTER

In the section above, choose the number of tickets needed and click Register,
then fill out the information for each member of your family who will be participating in the event.
Then all you have to do is show up with your bike on September 26th for a fun-filled day!
It's FREE, so bring the whole family!
(On-site registration also available beginning at 7:30 AM the day of the event)

THE START

The ride begins at Fort Worth's Trinity River Park, situated near the intersection
of I-30 and University Drive. This beautiful park overlooks the scenic Trinity River
and is accessible via the Trinity Trails bike path.

THE FINISH

The route makes a full loop, ending at the start line above.
Stick around to check out booths from our sponsors, vendors, and enjoy live music.

BIKE INSPECTIONS

Have your bike checked out at Bicycles Inc., the official bike shop of the 2009 Clean Air Bike Rally!
Locations in Fort Worth, Hurst, Arlington and Keller.

RIDE WAIVER

By registering for and participation in this event, you assume full and complete responsibility
for any injury or accident which may occur during your participation in the 2009 Clean Air Bike Rally,
and release and hold harmless the sponsors, promoters, and all other persons and entities
associated with this event from any and all injury and damage, whether it be caused by negligence
of the sponsor or promoter or any other person or entity associate with the event.
You acknowledge that your bike is in good working order and agree to wear a helmet anytime
you are on your bicycle, as required by city ordinance.

REQUIREMENTS & RECOMMENDATIONS

Bike must be in good working order (see Bike Inspection information above)
Helmets are required anytime you are on the bicycle
Riders are encouraged to carry their own water bottle. Water available at start and Rest Stop.
A Bicycles Inc. truck will be on the route to assist with mechanical issues.

Is that sponsor "Chesapeake Natural Gas"? as in urban drilling? Isn't that industry one of the prime contributors to air pollution in this area? While I salute their community involvement, it seems that a representative company of one of the most environmentally destructive and dangerous industries city dwellers have to deal with would do more good by lobbying for and self-enforcing tighter restrictions on drilling in urban settings.

That said though, news reports today (NPR) report that natural gas interests came up short in recent legislation on energy policy, losing out to big coal.
