Nice shot, Brian. One of my college jobs was at a local municipal airport and several blimps (including MetLife) used our facility as a base when they were in the area. It was interesting to watch them wrangle the ship to the ground. I'll have to find out if the field is still used for that; could be some good photo opportunities there.

Sunrise a few days ago. I like the red railroad tracks as a result. (I will take another pic like this the next morning it is not so stink'n hazy)

Railroad tracks running East of Downtown along HWY 121

Took this photo at 7pm yesterday. Something about it just looks like a Saturday afternoon to me.

Four pretty random pics for your inspection this evening.

Sunrise over DFW airport this morning.

Fire burning for hours in Dallas?

Last night's rising Moon over Cedar Hill.

5 minute old picture of the new bridge construction in Dallas. Huge. (Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, I think)

Brian, the Cedar Hill shot is awesome!

Also like the sunrise over DFW Airport. It just drips with "another hot day's a coming".

Overall I really like your long range shots. Lets us look at our city in ways many of us don't have much opportunity for.

I mounted cabinet hardware (Black pull handles) on my condo on 21. This is pretty random all right.
Sure is pretty frustrating drilling for cabinet hardware. Sure enough needs to be in just the right place.
Makes me nervous. I bought the plastic guides but of course I want to mount mine in a different position than the guide
provides for. It would be fun to see somebody that knows what they are doing do it now.

Now I think I need a backsplash. My condo on 34 has granite counters that go up the walls to the cabinets. This condo had no options.

Before the pulls installed

And after

So what did you do before the pulls? Just grab the edge of the door or drawer and pull? Weird.

Fort Worth waterfall, near Carswell, east of Pumphrey. Hard to determine scale but each level is 5 - 7 ft high.

Old sign as seen through fencing near waterfall. This is on Carswell property and from satellite, can see old rifle range.

Is the waterfall near the golf course that's next to the base?

Looks great!

I just did a backsplash. Super easy. Used a combo of ceramic and glass tiles. Make a huge difference, looks completed now.

Yes, the golf course is west of Pumphrey and this is east by about 300 yds.

I just rode by there yesterday. No pictures of that, but here's a brief video.

Earlier in the ride, approaching downtown from the southwest, I caught the sunrise.

I rode a metric century (my first), starting from the North Crowley area in south Fort Worth, up to Tanglewood where I picked up the Trinity Trail, then to downtown, then to River Oaks, around the tip of the JRB, met some people in White Settlement and we rode around the west side of Lake Worth to the Fort Worth Wildlife Preserve, then back home from there. 114 kilometers/71 miles. Full report (if you care) on my blog.

A really great sunrise pic above Doohickie ^

Was at my attorney's office again yesterday morning. (real estate attorney) On the 20th floor of the Burnett Plaza building.
Of course I consider part of my legal fees to grant me the privilege of dragging my biggest lens up to that floor and making security nervous.

Lancaster Bridge over the Trinity River.

Up West 7th. As I have stated before, I like how a big lens mixes different neighborhoods together.

Stayton Construction peaking up over the Trinity Terrace Towers.

Montgomery Plaza.

I was down by the Trinity yesterday (primarily to photo what may soon be demolished...the Merrimac Circle office complex) and got a few shots of the Trinity Park miniature train bridge crossing the river. I suppose the train stops running after 5 PM...would've been nice to get a shot of the train crossing the bridge:

And this interesting bit of small graffiti on the bridge:

Now for a totally random shot...I fired out a window of the Neighborhood Grill at some nearby power lines while waiting for some delicious hamburger steak and sweet potato fries to arrive . Photographers generally hate power lines and equipment. After I played with this shot in post processing I found it actually had a little interesting color. Sometimes instead of loathing something you just gotta celebrate it a little: biggrin.gif

Really like this shot of MP Art. If we could have moved the new Cobalt Super Sport it could like like the cover to an old Montgomery Ward Catalog.

Interesting perspective (Best perspective) of this building. Not quite sure where you took the shot from if you did not rent some helicopter time. To me it would seem there are many buildings, like So7 that would be in the way of shooting the front of the building from the river. Very nice.

Nah. That's not an SS. It's just a normal Cobalt coupe with some ugly wheels. lol It still looks better than the Sunfire and Accord with racing stripes, though!

There is still a slim window to photograph the building from the levee. When So7 fully develops, then this photo opportunity will be gone.

Brian,

Thanks for your compliments! In post processing I played around with cropping out the cars, but it just didn't work for the overall photo, framing wise, so I left them in. If I get to do this shot again I'll raise the camera up more so it does the cropping of the cars. smile.gif

I shot this standing atop the west levee of the Trinity River, above the parking lot for the duck pond and firefigher/police memorial. John may be right...this photo op spot may disappear someday.

By the way, while I was on the levee shooting MP and the Lancaster bridge, I got some progress photos of the Stayton construction. They are in the Residential section on this board, if anyone is interested. Looks like the project is really moving along.

103 degree heat is no excuse for the one who cools art to get out in the heat and make some photos!

Not really sure what this project is just North of The Trinity East of Main Street. They are bringing in fill. (TCC?)

I took this shot this morning, bright and early, while it was still like 88 out. (Careful, frostbite will sneak up on you.)

That looks like it might be some kind of environmental clean up.
