I'm going to be a little better about having forum meetings this year.  Let's try to meet on the last Friday of every month at noon.  Let's set the location at Benito's on Magnolia and, unless we change the location.  The date will work for me for most of the year, except for November and December.  The date falls on the day after Thanksgiving and on Christmas Day.  If we meet for photography, let's try to set aside a separate Saturday or Sunday for those.

The first forum meeting of 2015 will be on Friday, January 30th, at 12 noon.  The location will be Benito's Mexican Restaurant at the corner of Magnolia and Fairmount.  Who is interested in attending?

I have no clashes on Friday's this semester and my M-Th classes start at noon, so I can make some for sure!

Austin, it's good to know that you will be able to make some meetings.

By the way, if anyone wants to ride bicycles tomorrow, Saturday, January 17th, I will be out there with a few friends on the Trinity Trails.  The time will be approximately 2:00 PM.  I'm not sure if we are meeting at a friend's house at 2:00 or we will be on the Trail at 2 PM.  We are going to assemble at the trailhead/parking area just east of the Woodshed and right next to the University Drive bridge.  All of us haven't ridden much this winter and we are terribly out of shape, overweight, and slow.

We are going to meet at the friend's house at 2:00 PM; therefore, we will be at the trailhead between 2:15 and 2:30.

There's a good chance I can make it on the 30th. I haven't been to Benito's in forever.

I should be able to attend the meeting on January 30th. Typically I work on Friday's but I've got a vacation day scheduled that week. Have to use up the FY14 carryover days. :)

I've got classes on Fridays that end around 12:30, so that time won't work for me.

EDIT: The earliest I can attend the last Friday of a month is May. I will try to attend the May meeting.

When the weather gets warmer, I thought we would move it to the Food Park at Thistle Hill.  It's a great place to eat outside and you get to enjoy the nice grounds of the mansion.

6 attendees but only 2 forum members attended. 5 architects and 1 land surveyor. Lots of good discussion.

We'll have to try harder next month to have more forum members show up at a forum meetup.

Yes, if the weather is snowy or icy, we will cancel the meeting.  I don't want anyone to risk their car or their lives to come.  If is it just raining and above freezing, then we will meet.

More snow is falling and it is getting nastier out there.  Let's wait a month and maybe the weather will be better on March 27th.  The forum meeting is officially cancelled.  If you want to go to Benito's on your own, you are certainly welcome.  Mexican food does sound good on a day like today.

I did venture out.  I went to Zio Carlo's a few blocks down.  They were actually pretty crowded.

I figured out why you canceled though; the roads are just stupid.  And the drivers are idiots.

I just did not want to have any of us risk our lives and our vehicles just to have lunch.  It wasn't worth it.  We can meet again in four weeks, or sooner, if the weather would cooperate.

We are nine days away from the next forum meeting.  It will be on Friday, March 27th at noon.  I'm still debating on whether the weather will be good enough to eat at the Food Park at Thistle Hill.  If it isn't, we will definitely be at Benito's on Magnolia.  This will be a great chance to discuss the new Jetta Operating Tower/640 Taylor Street.  If you would like, I could ask some of my friends from Bennett Benner Partners to attend.

Dave, family comes first.  My next question comes to the group.  The weather forecast for Friday the 27th looks nice.  Do you all want to try to go to the Food Park at Thistle Hill instead of Benito's?  I also have some good news for you.  Representatives from Bennett Benner Partners will be at the lunch.  This will be an opportunity to ask them about some of their projects.

I need to start getting a head count soon, and a decision on where to hold this meeting.  If we go to Thistle Hill, I can pull some strings to get us a reserved table.

I want to say thank you to all who showed up today.  It was a very successful meeting, even though it was short.  I wish there had been more time to visit, but the Food Park was busy.  It was also nice to have Bennett Benner Partners architects attending.  Thistle Hill is a great place for us to sit and look at the beautiful mansion while we eat and discuss various city topics.

I thought that was a good spot for lunch inside the carriage house.  Those of us who got there just before noon, placed our order and had our food in just a couple minutes.  if folks are running late, I would suggest grabbing something on the way, otherwise you may get stuck waiting quite a bit longer to place an order and receive your food.

Nitixope, since the whole idea of the Food Park is to raise money for the organization, I'm not so sure that we allow food to be brought in.  That's pretty sad, here I am Chairman of the Board, and I don't really know our policy about that.  I think next time, we will start at 11:45 to see if we can avoid the crowds.

Volare, I will try to remember to bring some name tags at the end of the month.

Guess what time of the month it is now?  Let's meet on Friday, at the Food Park at Thistle Hill.  Let's also make it a goal to be there at 11:45 to make sure we have time to discuss Fort Worth issues.  If you can't make it that early, come when you can.

Looks like a 60-65% chance of storms at lunchtime tomorrow but I'm still up for it. Last time we ate in the carriage house, so rain shouldn't be a deal killer. But, I will put my umbrella in the van tonight.

Normally, I would have changed the location back to Benito's if I could be sure that it would be raining.  However, since the forecasts have been missed so much lately with the timing of the rain, I just decided to stick with us eating at Thistle Hill.

It hasn't rained much at lunch any this week, so I took a chance that it wouldn't do it today.  However, it looks like I have pressed our luck too far.  However, it is too late to change the location, now.  I will still be there and if no one shows up, I will have lunch in the Carriage House by myself.  I brought name tags, in case that we have a big group.
