I tried going to Eazy Monkey yesterday for the first time and I believe they are no longer open.  It was 6:30 and the doors were locked and the lights were out.  Don't know if it's the location but I don't think the name helped much with drawing in business.

Went there a few weeks ago--the food was horrible but the server was very nice.

A few days later went to Teddy Wongs and server came up to us and said you got me twice in one week.

I mentioned to him later that evening about EM and he said they haven't been paid for several weeks and the owner owes a lot of $ to others. He claimed they said they would come back, but he doubted it.

In Topic: FW's Next Area to Revitalize?

Maybe this thread should read the next area of Fort Worth that should be revitalized.  My choice would be the west Camp Bowie Boulevard strip from, maybe, Alta Mere to 820.  Of course, this kind of dismal-looking commercial strip is not unique in Fort Worth. But the same could have been said about West Seventh before its 2010-era renaissance.  What brought this to mind was the other day when my client and I had lunch in the vicinity.  My client owns commercial property in the area and he was looking to buy a building for sale.  I showed him the old Gentleman's Cabaret & Restaurant.  He wasn't impressed.

It is interesting that Freds Texas Cafe and Magnolia Motor Lounge both decamped to roughly this area.

It was never built to be walkable, so a revitalization to its midcentury car-centric glory would be interesting.

I never see traffic at MML ever. I really don't know how that place stays in buisness.

Nothing seems to last in that building. It seems like a great setup to have an indoor/outdoor type of restaurant with an area outside for kids to play. I may be biased because I have an 8 year old and a 5 year old, but my wife and I were just discussing how we would love more places like Zolis around where we could sit outside during good weather and let the kids run around. We went there and to wild acre this weekend since the weather was so nice.

Going eastbound on Berry you have to really want to go there. People will drive 10 more miles and go soemwhere else before they turn around to get to a diffcult location
