Over the last few months, Architecture in Fort Worth has been asked to provide content and coordination for a PBS program on David Schwarz.  I have contributed photographs and I also put them in touch with local historians and photographers who own the rights to various images.

WTTW in Chicago is producing a program about the winner of this year’s Richard H. Driehaus Prize at The University of Notre Dame, David Schwarz.   Below is information about the air dates and times.

The 30 minute program, entitled “Street Smarts:  Architect David M. Schwarz”,  will premiere on WTTW in Chicago on Thursday, March 19th  at 8pm.   It will ALSO air on KERA in the Dallas/FW area on Friday, March 20th at 7:30pm.  AND, if you miss it or forget to record it, it can be viewed in full on the WTTW website page dedicated to the program (with some additional web features) at http://www.wttw.com/schwarz, shortly following the premiere.

I hope all of you take the time to watch this program, either online, or when it airs locally on Friday evening.  It was a lot of fun working with them on this project and it will be interesting to see which images were used.

I went to the website to watch the program shortly after it aired.  It was a good program on Schwarz and his work here in the city.  You will see some historic photographs from the Jack White Collection.  I also looked at the interviews that didn't make the program.  All of it was good.  I hope the forum members will take the time tonight to watch it online.  However, you can also wait until tomorrow night when it airs on KERA.

I watched it online the other night, and was pleasantly surprised! I had no idea that Fort Worth would dominate the show.

People in the Chicago area who watched this show likely have a very different image of Fort Worth now than they previously had.

I enjoyed learning more about David Schwarz and the history of Sundance Square.
