Dallas Omni Convention Center Hotel

Here are a couple of shots of the new Dallas Omni Convention Hotel going up in Dallas. I think this is as high as it gets. the windows are not that blue, it is plastic wrap. Interesting shape but not as pretty as the Fort Worth Omni in my opinion. (Which I love dearly) This Dallas Omni will have a nice view of the Trinity project in Dallas if it every becomes something other than a dirty ditch. When you look at these 2 pictures you could believe they are of a different building. One view makes it look huge, the other small.

And I admit whenever I'm over in Dallas it seems grittier than in my younger days. I suppose that comes with its explosive population growth and much higher densities than before.
How I love Cowtown...just wish it would get on board with street cars or light rail and commuter rail. I think we'll go there eventually...if our city leaders don't knuckle drag it forever.

Surely not spectacular like the Fort Worth Omni (a hotel 10) but a very handsome building for Dallas. And in an area than needs a boost. (Why I am looking for a condo in that area while prices are terribly low there)

That's a very nice photograph of the hotel. Thanks for posting.

During tonight's lower-tier race broadcast, FOX Sports showed off the DT Dallas skyline with the Omni flashing the TMS logo and the #24.....
After a year or two now, I consider the Dallas Omni as yet just another digital message board along the way. To me, it is debatable whether it enhances or distracts from Dallas' skyline. The calming effects given off by BOA and Reunion Tower are more impacting IMO.
