Would anyone be interested in a little get together of local photographers? We could have a little meet up someplace and talk cameras, share some tips, look at equipment, and maybe go on a little walk someplace and take some pictures. Perhaps even someone could organize a specific special location that is usually not accessible and let a little group of us go and take pictures.

How's that sound?

Somewhere with beer.  I take my best photos after a beer or two.

I would love to meet up with you guys.  I usually ride bicycles on Saturday mornings and that can stretch into the afternoon.  One of our rides, the Bicycles Inc. Century of the Month awards prizes for perfect attendance.  I have perfect attendance for several years in a row. That ride is scheduled for July 6th.  Mayor Betsy Price is attending. Also, I'm planning to ride with her this Saturday, so I might be available in the afternoon.  The 13th is the Peach Pedal and I was thinking about going.  I could cancel a ride to show up to shoot pictures, but I won't miss the Century of the Month.  Late Saturday afternoons could work for me on any week.  Sunday afternoons are also good.  If I don't have a meeting to attend, weekday evenings also work.

Of Course! I instagram almost everything I put on flickr haha, even stuff I take with my DSLR.

Just one suggestion- If we go someplace with beer, let's go someplace that is'nt strictly a bar. Not everyone is 21. Any particular suggestions?

Brewed?  But that may be way to crowded.  T&P Tavern?

Brewed has been way too crowded since it opened, but I'm certainly not opposed.  I know the owners of the T&P Tavern.

T&P sounds like a good place to me. Easy access for Southsiders and downtowners (Have I mentioned how much I love bikeshare?)
Not to mention that it is in itself beautiful to photograph.

A mutual friend of Doohickie and mine is planning one in the Stockyards on October 5th.  The date usually guarantees good weather and cooler temperatures.

When would all of you like to get together to take pictures?  I am occupied on the weekend of October 19-20 and on November 9-10.

No one has offered.  We have been discussing times to meet at the new Sundance Square Plaza this weekend.  Still, nothing firm has been set.

The sun goes down one hour earlier on Sunday.  Were you planning on making this a dusk/night photography session?  I'm game, either way.

Hey John-I thought it'd be better to meet a little before the golden hour. More interesting light to play with, and probably better temps to.

I agree.  The only reason I made note of the end of Daylight Saving Time is that right now, the light is very nice at 5:00 PM.  On Sunday, approximately the same sun angles would be present at 4:00 PM CST.  We can all meet at 5 and if anyone wants to show up early, they can.  Let's meet near the Pavilion close to 3rd and Main and within the plaza.  If there are lot of people, then we can meet close by.
