Use the "search" feature on this forum to look for the information you want. Try searching with "Jacksboro Highway" or just "Jacksboro" to find the threads containing the discussions. Once you are there, look for the name of the books people recommended and see if you can find them in local bookstores, or maybe the Northside Historical Society bookstore in the stockyards. If a specific question presents itself that you can't find the answer to, post your question on the forum in the same topic area the discussion is found in.
Good luck in your research.

Ann Arnold "Gamblers & Gangsters: Fort Worth's Jacksboro Highway in the 1940s & 1950s"
A great book that you should just buy, though there are enough copies in local libraries to sink a ship.

I remember George Hagan, a friend of my parents had an Esso station across and a little towards 28th street from the 2222 club...a little towards downtown from the Cowtown drive-in.
One day about 1962-64 we noticed a club across from the station had burned down....between the 2222 Club and the Avalon motel
address would be 2224 - 2240 Jacksboro...
Does anyone have any information about this, I think it was the Skyliner Club but don't remember, I was 8-10 at the time...depending on the year.
Urban legend was a gangster was found crispy inside after fire put out....
Avalon motel also had a TV housecall change the tubes repair place in the front...late 1950's to early '60's remember going there very young with my Dad....
Thanks for any help,
TW FW

Also, any information you can find on Delbert McClinton and the Straightjackets will surely mention bars and clubs on 'the Highway'
Also, in Yahoo Groups, there's a group of former Cellar employees, musicians, and patrons that would be more than willing to share any Jacksboro Highway 'first-hand' accounts. (The Cellar, after all, had it's genesis out on Jacksboro Highway)
