City of Arlington approved a public-private partnership with Loews Hotels to demolish the existing 19-story Sheraton Arlington Hotel they company recently purchased redevelop the the site with a new 500-room hotel. This would be Loews' third property in Arlington in addition to the 300-room hotel at Texas Live!, and 888-room Loews Arlington Hotel.
Some links in the news:

- WFAA: The Arlington City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved the 500-room, $410 million development.
Most interesting part I found in the Dec. 12th Arlington City Council work session slides was this bullet point:
- No Loews-branded hotel with 500 or more rooms at the same or higher quality may be developed in Collin, Dallas, Denton, or Tarrant counties during the term of the agreement.
