I'm calling all of you forum members to help out on the board a little more. In months past, I have been trying to keep up with public meetings, agendas, and other calendar events. I was just managing to keep a few posted. I would appreciate it greatly, if several forum members would be willing to help keep the Community Events and Recreation Calendars updated. The calendars are just like posting on a thread. Anyone can add an event.

The calendar is kind of eccentric and you can't just post First Monday of every month as a recurring event. The only way a recurring event can be posted is if it falls on the same day of the month, week, or year. At one time, I posted Fort Worth City Council Meetings because they do meet every Tuesday, but I found out that the calendar then listed every City Council meeting for 60 days on the index page of the forum. It cluttered the listings. So, please only post meetings that occur at one time only, or only meet once per month.

Do any of you use the calendar feature? Would it be better to post DDRB, Zoning, Historic & Cultural Landmarks Commission meetings in an annoucement section of City Issues? If we went that route, maybe H&CLC should be posted under preservation?

If I continue to have only limited time on the forum, and I don't have any takers, then the calendar will have very few community events listed.

I'll work on it a bit, just gathering some sources...

John, if you also need help cleaning up some of the forums (what with all these multiple threads), I'd gladly help! I'm sort of OCD, so organizing things comes naturally to me. wink.gif

Jonny, please do some cleaning. I've tried to merge all of the recent multiple threads that have popped up.

Well, I'd love to, but I don't think I can. I think you have to be an admin.

I thought about that after I posted it.

I've been merging those I've run across and deleting dupes.

...and that calendar stuff is bit tedious.

Does anyone have any ideas on how this board can be more effective in notification of public meetings?

I've noticed a few threads with meeting times and dates. It would be wonderful if these were posted in the forum calendar. (hint, hint)
