About Me
I was born and reared in Fort Worth. After graduating from Arlington Heights High School in 1966, I attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas and later graduated with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Texas Christian University in 1978. When my brother was killed in Vietnam in 1968, I became the sole surviving son in my family and unable to join the military at the time so instead I chose to enlist in the Fort Worth Police Department in 1970. Throughout my 30-year career, I held a number of positions, promoting to the rank of detective where I served for two and a half years before receiving another promotion to sergeant. I retired from the Department in 1999 but in 2001 returned to do backgrounds for new recruits. I live in Fort Worth with my wife, Kathy , has three children: Philip, Rebecca, Jacob and two grandchildren, Joshua and Jayson.
In 2007, AuthorHouse published my first book, Panther’s Rest “A History of the Fort Worth Police Department from 1873-21st Century". I continue to research the Fort Worth Police Department’s history.
