Very interesting! They will begin playing at LaGrave Field this May. You can even vote on the teams name.

Jeriat, have they contacted you for ideas yet?
As part of the commitment to the community, Fort Worth Soccer Group has a vision to build a soccer specific stadium in Fort Worth.

"If you build it they will come" is the popularized saying from the hit movie "Field of Dreams." If the Fort Worth Soccer Group succeeded in building a stadium, would that be an impetus for a major league soccer franchise? But it's great that a minor league is coming to Fort Worth. They are in good company...the Cats and the Brahmas.

Yeah, great company: one team that doesn't exist anymore (at least not in Fort Worth) and another that's constantly on the brink of financial ruin.

Naming down to 3 finalists, Fort Worth Vaqueros FC, Fort Worth United FC, and Panther City FC.
And for you Soccer fans, here's an interview with the Coach. http://soccerblog.da...ark-snell.html/

Who besides us would know or would connect Panther City with Fort Worth? Good for them though if someday the NPSL can purchase LaGrave Field. Cities should not be in the professional arena business.
At this time, I am not a soccer fan, but I did submit a name that is different from the 3 finalists listed.
It could be a winner!

Fort Worth United? Really?

Some people on Facebook were wanting it to be Fort Worth Panther FC in order to help desperate us from Dallas. I figure it might as well be "Fort Worth Not to be Confused With the City to the East Panthers FC" it had a nice ring to it.
Its mandatory that "Fort Worth" be apart of the team's name for me to even consider supporting it.

Not at all. But I like this.
The logos, however, could have been better...

I like all the logos excluding the one of the top right. Any one of the others would look good to me. I think top left is my favorite though.
I wonder why they went with blue and yellow, though. I think they should have used dark blue and red, to match the Cats.

Well, Dark Blue and Red are used plenty in this area when it comes to sports teams, so I guess they were looking to stand out.

The buzz is building. Just 4 days away from the home opener. I saw at least 3 people at Mayfest with Vaquero jerseys, and noticed the team schedule posted in a few windows of business and on signposts.

The Vaqueros will be playing at Wesleyan this season since LaGrave is in it limbo or whatever is going on with it. TCC also won the lottery to be the main jersey sponser.

If I remember correctly Martin Field is on the site of legendary Fort Worth music venue Panther Hall...

Alas, the owner of the Fort Worth Valeros (FWV) did not win the 1.5B Power Ball Lottery; for if he had, the owner had made a promise on FWV twitter account to build a new, awfully nice stadium for the Fort Worth Valeros. Check it out (Jan.13.2016)

Heard a rumor over the weekend that the Vaqueros are teaming with Texas Wesleyan to build a new on-campus stadium that will be shared with a soon to be started TWU football program.
Seeming to confirm at least part of this rumor is the fact that Wesleyan has posted the position of "Head Football Coach": LINK

Ah ha! That makes sense, I've also found where the rendering is, NW corner of Brinkley and Rosedale.
That would be quite a nice presence on the newly rebuilt streetscape of Rosedale. It's much different than say, Daniel Meyer, which is deeply buried in the campus, where this feels like it's being designed into the community itself.
Hoping this happens! Always good to see lesser talked about parts of FW get new and exciting projects.

At first I didn't think the stadium would fit. It appears to be crammed between Rosedale and Avenue D, two blocks. The blocks are 300 feet long though, so that would give 100 yards of field, 20 yards of end zone, and 40 yards for stands at each end. Sounds tight, but feasible.

If we had the art rendering back in February, why is this article appearing so late in the Fort Worth Business newspaper?

Glad to see Fort Worth's very own sports franchise wanting to build its own stadium. I'm thinking Dallas is so envious!

"He said the Vaqueros are in the process of negotiating with private entities that may help fund the project."
Although Wesleyan said they have "no plans" to help build the Vaqueros' new stadium, that may mean that they simply haven't run it through all the traps yet.

Watching the Tampa Bay Rowdies and FC Cincinnati (USL) last night, I saw an advert for "USL Division III", and it got me to thinking that maybe if the Vaqueros stick around, they could move to that. Maybe even USL...

The Vaqueros are moving to Farrington.
https://sportsday.da...arrington-field
Great news for Farrington Field! But the article does not update the status of the planned 5,000-seat stadium that was announced in the Star-Telegram (see Post #27). The S-T article back in April of last year stated there was no definite time-table for construction but I'm wondering if the project is still viable?
