His website says he wants to run because Zadeh voted for the hotel. Tells you everything you need to know.

Zadeh has been a hands-on city councilperson with Shaw-Clarke NA.  She and other city department heads spent about two hours with us in the heat last summer as we assessed the condition of the Shaw Street Pedestrian Tunnel, an infrastructure albatross we happened to be blessed with in SCNA.

We have a community center on the way and two new sidewalks in the past few weeks.

She is always open and honest with city progress, and, realistic about what the council can and cannot do.

If we have to form a new relationship with Mr. Fitzgerald, we will, but I hope it doesn't come to that.  Zadeh has earned her position and deserves to keep it.

Albatross/blessed with?  Do you mean it's an asset but requires a lot of maintenance from the NA?

I use that occasionally while riding my bike, and I do appreciate it when it's glass-free.

Since I attended George C. Clarke Elementary, I know that tunnel very well.  I have also cut through there on my bicycle in recent times and it was relatively free of glass when I rode through.

I don't want to hijack this thread talking about things in Shaw-Clarke, so I will get back on topic.  I wish the hotel had not become such a hot bone of contention within our Council District.  I think Ann Zadeh has represented us well over the last three years.

Both candidates visited a recent event in Oakhurst and I spoke with both of them, although I see AZ all the time at events and we speak frequently. Spoke with JF for a bit and I think he's running for the wrong seat. He should be running for mayor. I understand his complaints, but if there is anyone on the council who shares his concerns, it's AZ. The problem lies elsewhere.
