I think of Austin, Texas as a pretty girl who doesn't shave her legs. This is evident to me in many parts of the city, but particularly on the hike and bike trail around Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin. The natural part is really quite beautiful. The man made parts - a bit unkempt. Yep, like hairy legs on a pageant queen...

Thanks for taking us along Ram Man. If ever I have a few days to play I would love to hang out in Austin. For being a Texan, I do not know our Capital hardly at all. I do love their skyline these days. Frost building one of my all time favs.

Thanks, Brian. Downtown Austin has really taken off. I've counted 9 new skyscrapers built just since I moved here in 2007 - all residential, BTW. And apparently many more are on coming on line soon. If you're interested, here's a read from the local paper on all the building activity downtown.

If you're ever in Austin, I'd be glad to show you around. It's a nice, but very quirky city.

Very nice pics. I love Austin. I wish I had more time and money to visit more often.
