Vonlane will offer luxury bus service between Fort Worth and Austin for $79 each way. Dallas Morning News reports:

I have not ridden Vonlane, but I know people who travel between Dallas and Houston for business and prefer Vonlane to flying or driving.

Vonlane is advertising very frequently on The Ticket these days.  They're pushing college football trips to Austin and College Station.

We have Dallas Megabus; the formula that always work for the regionalist: Dallas is Fort Worth, whats your problem?

And that is they way companies feel towards us. :angry2:

I've noticed if you want to take Greyhound to San Antonio, Austin, Houston, or Oklahoma City, you have to transfer in Dallas in most cases.

Vonlane's Fort Worth "station" is on 14th st, just south of the Omni.

Vonlane now offers service between Fort Worth and Houston, up to four trips per day in each direction. Looks like tickets are $99 each way.

Vonlane will add a route between Dallas and Oklahoma City starting in January, citing Southwest Airlines' decision to drop service from DAL to OKC: https://www.business...Of-State-Routes

Here's a map of Vonlane routes:

The only "missing" destination for Dallas and Fort Worth is San Antonio. If San Antonio is added as a destination from the North Texas area, hopefully it would be out of Fort Worth now rather than Dallas to balance out the new Dallas-Oklahoma City route.

I'm really surprised there's not a route between Austin and San Antonio.

Using your logic, why are you not surprised there isn't a route between Dallas and Fort Worth?

Whereas DFW Airport serves both Dallas and Fort Worth, and Austin and San Antonio have separate airports, there are separate airports servicing Dallas and there could be separate airports servicing Fort Worth.  Meacham to Love Field are 35 air miles apart,  San Antonio to Austin-Bergstrom are 66 miles apart.

Does anyone fly commercially 35 or 66 miles anymore?

Key question for me: Does Volane use electrified bus?

About San Antonio: I think it would make a sound business decision to continue to San Antonio after Austin; and to begin the return to Fort Worth or Dallas from San Antonio. The volume of traffic between Austin and San Antonio is immense.

The downtowns of San Antonio and Austin are much farther apart (80 miles) than the downtowns of Fort Worth and Dallas (32 miles).

But, Vonlane is an expensive luxury service. I suppose Megabus and Greyhound adequately serve as connections between San Antonio and Austin.

The TRE serves as a connection between Fort Worth and Dallas.

Vonlane has restarted all its routes, including FW-Austin and FW-Houston, with social distancing measures in place, and launched family charter service anywhere in the continental US. https://www.vonlane....s#news-releases
