Just so you guys know--Thomas Kinkade's brother is a TCU professor.  He is in charge of the estate and ironically reads this board.  So do try and keep the comments appropriate.

Thank you, but I stand by my statement.

All art does not appeal to all people.

One time I posted a opinion to have the Olympics at TMS. One member said "It was the stupidest idea he had ever heard " . And one poster told another poster "don't get your panties in a wad" for his opinion about Fort Worth overshadowed by Dallas.  I am ok with different opinions. But why does this guy get away with talk like that ? Do we need to have a brother who is a  TCU professor to have appropriate comments  on our opinions  ?

Six months on, the Dallas Morning News has an update on the theme park. Or, to be precise, an update on the lack of updates: Planned $3.5 billion Fort Worth theme park still a mystery

I'm not quite sure who you mean by "US". Do you mean citizens of Fort Worth? The City of Fort Worth? Members of the Fort Worth Forum?

I can easily see people in Dallas who are aware of the news releases about this fantasy project lifting their eyebrows, scratching their heads, and laughing at each turn in this bizarre story, much the same as informed people in Fort Worth have. But what have the people, the city, or Forum members done to deserve the same treatment. At the first limited news release that hinted at some sort of entertainment complex I suppose the city was excited, but probably a little confused as to why they had not been in touch with this mystery developer, and the citizens probably thought that some sort of alternative Six Flags was perhaps a viable idea, maybe... But there was skepticism among Forum members from the beginning. Yeah, citizens came out to enjoy the free fireworks but I don't think anyone ever really took the bait all the way, except perhaps a few small investors who are too embarrassed at this point to talk about it. I would guess there have been similar and worse schemes floated in Dallas over the years; life in the big city, you know.

Since it's close to Thanksgiving, one thing that Fort Worth can't be thankful for are these fly-by-night flim-flam artists.  This qualifies for the "whatever happened to..." column.  I like Jeriat's sense of humor.

Maybe they're just waiting for the Panther Island bridges to be completed!

They announced a partnership with Provident Global Capital, which I cannot find anything substantial about.

or the T & P redevelopment!

Maybe it's buried somewhere in this thread, but does anyone know if our fair city or the chamber etc ever gave any money or incentives etc to the DreamVision schemers?

I almost certain they didn't get anything out of the city.  The mayor was at the announcement and gave what looked like a pretty reluctant "we'll see" endorsement, but it didn't go much further than that.

Wondered what happened to this group. Here is another article from our own Ft Worth Press. I knew several folks who got really excited to the point of investing in this thing. Fortunately, once I showed them myriad of past deals like this this of Disney coming to town, indoor Snow Parks etc... that have gone on for probably 50 years or more, they cooled down. There were actually some pretty high profile people involved in the press event who had ties to Disney and such, I wonder if they were scammed also or part of the scam.

ESPN, no doubt, has a plentitude of legal counsel.  I find it incredible that its attorneys failed to spot a phony even before drafting a partnership agreement.

The more you WANT to believe, the more you will overlook facts. I was watching a show just the other day about the shuttle disasters and it was similar, a combination of complacency and not wanting to stick with what the facts say was the overwhelming agreement at the end of the day caused them both. They had the warnings, failures of O rings on two earlier missions in colder weather, they had the engineers run all the data which said don't even think of taking off in this weather and Senior Senior, yes I purposely did that twice as the senior manager said no go, His manager overruled him and they went. This is very similar, all common sense and facts say it's a sham but senior people in management want to be the center of the story and see themselves in the press and heaven forbid someone else get the deal.

S-T picked up the story too: https://www.star-tel...e277498453.html

The article mentions making this an affordable destination.  I have mixed feelings about that.  Sometimes affordable is nice because everyone can enjoy the fun, but from experience, cheaper is not always better and tends to bring out the worst in people too.  More people, more lines, more stress and more problems.  The one thing  I just can't ever get over how many people litter in the parking lots when there's no staff or security around watching, not that that would stop them.  I've seen it at water parks, the zoo, the mall, pretty much everywhere.

A friend recently went to Disneyland and spent over $1,000 on tickets (around $100 per day per person) and said there's upgraded passes called Genie, Genie+ and once you get those I think there's still another upgrade called Lightning Lane with separate lines altogether.  I went to Disney World as a kid and I recall standing in a few lines but not usually for more than 20 - 30 minutes.  You could charge $500 a ticket per day and you'd still see people arguing and fighting in lines.  Maybe this is more a commentary on society in general.

Heritage-USA-Map-1986.jpg

"Heritage", "Inspirational" and "family" are key touch words used in positively referring to the extreme religious - political cabal supporting a multiple-indicted-and-impeached former US president and legal and judicial restrictions on once commonly accepted personal and civil rights. PTL (sign in the upper right corner of the illustration) DOES refer to the organization that once presented the on-air programming that supported the lifestyle of Jim and Tammy Baker. That peninsula in the lake needs to be modified to surround a giant wooden Ark. Oops, sorry, already one in Kentucky. Maybe the outdoor theater could feature an evening "Witch Hunt" and burning to thrill the kids attending! Maybe Kenneth Copeland should bet on this trend, I bet a full sized ark would fit nicely on Eagle Mountain Lake!

I tried to look and figure out of it was some of the same people but didn't find it on my original look and never got back to it. If I was forced to put money on it I would go with never gonna happen! Seems to me people have just figured out a way to get money out of people then move on to the next set of chumps willing to give their money away.

Meanwhile, TexasLand USA would be "a theme park full of the state's historical and cultural significances." People could visit attractions such as the Apollo 11 mission control, the Prada store in Marfa and a recreation of the Fort Worth Stockyards. https://www.star-tel...e277677458.html
