I was cleaning out stuff for a garage sale last weekend and ran across my old darkroom equipment. I really have no place to use it and it's been so long, I don't think I know how any more. In any event, I really, really hate the thought of throwing it out. So, I was going to see if anyone still used this kind of stuff anymore and if they would be intested in giving it a new home.
What I have is a Durst F-30 enlarger, 24x36 mm with a 1:35 50 mm. lens; it is, of course, on the stand with the base. I also have a Gralite timer, 4/1 easel and red safelight, and I may still have a film canister. I don't guarantee any of this works 100%, but the last time I used it ('79/'80 or so) it worked great. I had tons of fun doing darkroom, just no where to put it now.
I know this is dinosaur equipment, but maybe someone is interested in "antiques." It will be their's for the taking.

Lady Bird Johnson
12 July 2007 - 07:14 AM
I just want to comment on the loss of Lady Bird Johnson--she is someone I have greatly admired, a true Texas icon, although she probably would not believe so. This woman was the best example of a 20th Century Texas southern belle. She was strong, determined, of her own mind, yet always gracious and humble. She put up with a lot of "abuse" from a very strong minded (and also admirable-IMO) man, but held her own with him. She didn't whine, she didn't air dirty laundry, she went about her life and business with a quiet dignity and grace. Of course, Lady Bird started the Highways Beautification Project and promotion of wildflowers at a time when a lot of people thought it was trivial poppycock and just something to keep her busy. And yet this has evolved into so much of the conservation movement that is at the forefront right now. From East Texas beginnings to a truly great person, we were very lucky to have her as an example of a true Texan.
Belly Dance Haffla at Rose Marine Theater
14 June 2007 - 11:50 AM
Just in case someone was looking for something different to do Saturday night, (6/16) the Crescent Moon Bellydance studio is having their summer Haffla (show) at the renovated Rose Marine Theater on North Main, about a block down from El Rancho Grande/Byblos. I honestly don't know a lot about the history of the Rose Marine and the renovation, but it is certainly a wonderful theater and stays very busy these days hosting plays, dance workshops, children's shows, etc. Tix are $20, the show begins, I believe, about 7:30. These are some beautiful and amazing dancers, well worth the ticket price IMO. So, come join us for the fun! There will also be some intermission snacks available provided by yours truly
Forum Picnic??
27 March 2007 - 03:44 PM
I guess spring fever has me in it's grasp, but I was just wondering of anyone would be interested in having a "Forum Picnic"? I'm thinking one Saturday or Sunday here before it gets too hot, we could all get together at the Trinity Park Shelter, bring a couple of cookers, make burgers and dogs, and just hang and visit for an afternoon. I checked and we can reserve the shelter for 5 hours at $35 (plus $10 per each additional hour) or $70 for the whole day. It has both electricity and restrooms that they will open for $25 each amenity.
The reason I thought of that place is, it's a nice place, close to the duck pond and not far from play areas for those who want to bring kids; we're right across from Mont Wards if anyone wants to venture over there, a relatively central location for most of us, etc., etc.
We'd all need to pony up for the shelter rental fee, and could either donate and have one person be in charge of food, or make it pot luck.
Any thoughts? comments? suggestions?

From Thurs Star-Telegram:
"Tune in to the '60s
A bit of Fort Worth radio history will get a nationwide tribute this Friday -- on satellite radio (but stay tuned, you might still be able to hear it without a satellite unit). XM Satellite Radio, as part of a weekly tribute to 1960s radio stations, will honor Fort Worth's classic KFJZ as one of the most influential stations of that time. From 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, XM's '60s channel will present radio station jingles, sound checks and local color about Fort Worth-area high schools, restaurants, people and so forth. Present or former Fort Worth residents can call in and talk about their memories of KFJZ and the city itself. The show is free to non-subscribers via a free, three-day trial of XM Satellite Radio, available online at listen.xmradio.com."
Mark E Baby, L Shannon, George Erwin!! I am so going to check this out and feel even older than I do already!
