I went up to the Hotter'n Hell Hundred in Wichita Falls over the weekend.  I was up there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  I rode my first 100 mile ride of the year while I was there.  A space in a room opened up and other than going up to the Davis Mountains two weeks ago, I had not done any real training.  It was a lot of fun and a great weekend.  There were 11,196 riders in attendance.

I did my own personal Hotter than Hell here in Fort Worth, 44 miles fixed, including one trip up Zoo Hill and 2 trips up the Oakmonster.  The last few miles were mighty hot.

It was hotter here than it was there.  I feel for you doing 44 miles on a fixed gear bike, especially with those hills.

I did the 100 miler too. Second time I've done that. Much better this year with light winds. 4:48 thanks to the Pace Group peloton!

mmiller2002, we are not nuts, we just like to ride our bicycles.  It's all a matter of training.  I would love to do a forum bike ride one of these days.

My friends that usually do the Hotter'n Hell did not go this year.  How did the number of riders compare to previous years?  They have tossed out numbers that are higher than John mentioned.

The numbers were down about 1,000 from last year.  My totals were from the Times Record News on Sunday morning.  I believe around 2010, they hit an all time high of about 14,000.
