Just was reading in another forum about buying fake Canon batteries from Amazon.

I was slightly suspicious when I found it to be a slightly tight fit when inserted in the camera, and did not spring out when the clip is released. The main giveaway is the serial number, genuine Canon LP-E6N batteries have an eight digit number, this one had seven.

Amazon were very good and gave me a refund and a potage label to return it.

Hope this helps

I bought a counterfeit SD chip from Amazon for a video camera.  (It was not fast enough for the Video Camera to use was my initial tipoff.)  I did a bit of research to find that they sell plenty of bogus memory devices.  Shame on Amazon.com.  Part of being a quality retailer would be making sure you sell legitimate products, I would think.

Amazon has amazing customer service, I am sure they would refund in full and perhaps give ship you a proper one for free.

Amazon isn't a retailer. It's a retailer co-op.
