Hi folks. I've been absent from the forum for a while due to computer troubles. But I'm back.
I recently bought a digital camera and I am one happy camper. It's the first "good" digital camera I've owned so I'm having a lot of fun with it.
Last week I had a chance go take some pictures of the Austin skyline from Barton Creek Square Mall in Southwest Austin. The mall sits atop a hill overlooking the city.
UT Campus area.
Texas State Capitol hiding out behind the Westgate Tower.
Texas State Capitol, Westgate Building and Uptown to the far left.
I used my tripod, but it was windy up there so the camera still wiggled a bit.
Austin skyline day & night from a hill.

The next set was from a few days later in the late afternoon.
The northern end of the skyline with West Campus, UT Campus and The Drag plus the DKR Stadium.
The UT Campus. The yellow tower crane in the background is actually in East Austin just east of I-35. It's working on the new Dell Children's Medical Center at the former Robert Mueller Municipal Airport. You'll notice a skinny skeletal tower with a white top just below the crane. That's part of the hospital. The old airport is being turned into a dense urban development that will eventually house 10 to 15,000 residents.
Uptown. This area of downtown contains commercial office space as well as state office space residential and some hotel buildings. This is also Austin's Arts District. The area is full of art galleries.
A bug got in the way of this shot. Uptown & the Capitol Complex. And you can see the Decker Lake Power Station in East Austin off to the right.
The southern end of the skyline including the Financial District.
The tower crane in the picture is working on a new 18-story, 224 foot residential building which is located caddy-corner to Austin's city hall.
Most of the skyline here. A rainbow started to form although it faded away pretty quick. You can barely make it out to the left.
Thanks for looking.
