From what I can tell from the maps and models on the trinityrivervision.org website The Ellis Building is not necessarily slated for demolition. However, it looks like another familiar sort of demolition, i.e. strategic neglect, is being deployed there. The roofing material is all but peeled away on the south side, and there are more windows broken and missing than intact. Is this city or River Authority property? Is this, like the T&P Warehouse, a case of the city code enforcement slacking off? I would guess that there is no sort of protection for the building as historic or significant as that seems to be the norm for historic or significant buildings in Fort Worth. Any idea of what is going to happen to this unique structure?
