Everyone, the Forum and Website were hacked again on Friday. Fortunately, I was able to get the website partially up by Saturday and the Forum is now back in operation. I'm glad that this happened over the weekend when I had a chance to nearly fix everything. If you get messages stating there is an attack on your computer from this site, please e-mail me and I will address it as soon as I can. A new release of the Invision Board is coming out soon, so I will upgrade to that as quickly as I can.

Thanks.

Under my signed-in name in the upper right corner, the drop down menu stays there all the time blocking "view new content"

There are still some bugs to be worked out, but the forum is clear of viruses. The forum will come down again for an upgrade.

You are welcome. However, I have a lot of things to do before everything is back to normal. As usual, I'm working on a big project, so I don't have much spare time. I've been putting in extra hours at work, and that has been including weekends.

I'd just like to say thanks as well :)
Any idea when and for how long the forum will be down for during the upgrade?

I'll echo the thanks for your work on your site and the forum.

My anti-virus/anti-spyware software on my work PC was still blocking the forum as of about 4:00 this afternoon.

There are still some buggy things. Please be patient.

Thanks for letting me know about the virus thing. It may be that the forum is still infected. I'm not getting any messages like that. All of the infected files were removed and fixed over the weekend.

In case you didn't notice, the forum has been upgraded. It has a slightly different look.

By the way, I'm curious about how the regular posters feel about the new look and features.

Looks like the forum's virus-free now. It's taken a bit to get used to the new look, but I like it.

I have never used the mobile site until it was mentioned above and I am impressed. The forum seems faster than it has been lately, and the new front end looks fine. The virus must have been PC based, my Mac never complained.

I think the new format looks really slick, both on desktop and mobile.

Thanks, John, for all your work making this possible. If you'd like to set up a way to accept donations, I'm sure that many of us regulars would be willing to help defray your costs.

I like it. Very crisp and and easy on the eyes. I like the fact that signing on no longer takes you off of the page you're viewing. If there was a quick login option on the old version, I could never find it.

The only thing that's a little wonky is that I'm seeing red x's where there should be an avatar next to a user's name on all pages. It looks like it's acutally only on users that don't have an avatar. This may be some funky image blocking that's happening with my filter software at work. I haven't had a chance to look at it on one of my machines at home.

And the new mobile version is outstanding. It wasn't bad before, but the look is much improved.

Ever since the site was hacked it has caused my stocks to read much lower. (Like, since the elections)

Something else I noticed by accident when glancing at the member list: There are close to 200 new members added in the last day or so that awaiting validation. I'm going to guess that most of those are spam accounts.

Out of those, two looked legitimate and I approved those two accounts. We will see if they are spammers.

What is up with the need for approval from a moderator before the post is shown? Is that a feature you've decided to add from here on? Also, it seems a little weird to make a post on the transportation forum and then have to go approve my own post. I woulda thunk I would have auto approval on that subforum.

Andy, something didn't work right when the forum was upgraded. RD Milhollin had the same problem. I made some edits to his profiele and I think it cleared things up. I'm not 100% sure because he didn't let me know the problems were fixed. I will see what I can do.
