Does anybody know how long the construction on Rosedale is supposed to take? It already seems like it's been going on forever and I rarely see anybody out there working on it.
And another thing: I thought that area of town was going to be pedestrian friendly, but it appears that Rosedale will be extremely wide. I realize that it's a major east-west artery for the near southside, but nobody is going to want to walk across that thing...

I think 2007 is estimated completion date. FWSouth is trying to get funding to close out the right lanes each direction to reduce speed and improve ped oreiented environment.
Apparently, they did get funding to go ahead and put sprinker pipes in the right hand lanes for future landschaping. I heard at one time the city was willing to stripe off the lane pending funding.

Yeah, I thought once TxDOT is finished with its portion of Rosedale, the city was going to convert the right lanes to parking, landscape the medians, and enhance the sidewalks and intersections. I also thought they had already allocated funding for this, it was in an article posted here some time ago. Also, I read somewhere that the eastbound side will be opening soon so they can close the WB side and redo it.
