It almost looks woven (weaved?)

It might have been nice for that to be color lighting on the top, and then maybe alternate color from the bottom.

The light installation is not complete. Originally, there were downlights in the planters that cantilever out from the pool area. They have not turned those on, as of Saturday.

I saw something about it on Facebook last night and it took me forever to track it down:
https://dallasexpres...KAiSea3gI-NNv4E
I can't find anything about this through a Google or Twitter search and that is not exactly a media source I would like to link to, but it's at least got what appear to be salient details. The last sentence in the article raised my eyebrow just a little.

Yeah, you kind of have to be careful with the agenda that might be behind anything reported there. Odd that I can't find another source.

This source seems a little strange.

Established local news outlets aren't exactly covering business topics like this, and those that are fall more into the category of press release than investigation.Yeah, you kind of have to be careful with the agenda that might be behind anything reported there. This is one of the reasons why Fort Worth Report starting up and the FWST having a business writer again are important.

I happened to find a presentation given by an accounting firm that deals a lot in the construction industry and thought I'd share a few of their insights into why some construction companies fail:
Ten Most Common Reasons for Construction Company Failures:
- Growing too fast
- Obtaining work in new geographic region(s)
- Dramatic increase in job size
- Obtaining new types of work
- High employee turnover
- Inadequate capitalization
- Buying dumb stuff (cars, boats, ranches, etc.)
- Poor estimating and job costing
- Poor cash flow
- Poor accounting system
That is a very good and true list! It has most of all my favorites. I used to do consulting on helping smallish companies looking to take that next step from small company to midsize. The #1 thing I always stressed, Hypergrowth will kill a company faster than anything. Growth has to stay limited to what staffing, cash flow and focus allows. The second biggest cause of failure is having an owner who has been doing it all and refuses to let go. You can't double or triple the size of your company and still totally micromanage everything like you have been. Figure out what you like the lease and hire the best person you can find to take that one and let them do it.

Muckleroy and Falls has a good reputation. It is quite possible that building held more surprises than anticipated.
Theyve been around 40+ years, I fear a lot of contractors might have struggled on this one or maybe the project budget should have been double to accommodate these unknowns. Sometimes the best projects are the ones you dont win.
Not exactly related to this project, but the CEO of Muckleroy and Falls was killed in a tragic car accident on Wednesday:

Wow. That is a very tragic story. Didn't know him personally but I am close to people who knew him. Keep his widowed wife in our prayers.

Looks like the opening has been pushed to June. From the website:

I'm glad that 8th St between Le Meridien and Deco is finally open. Gives a good look into the lobby of the hotel which I've been waiting to see.

The lobby looks like it is going to be nice.
I agree. Is there still plans for a restaurant or retail space?

You will have to go back and check previous posts in this thread, but I think a restaurant was proposed in the initial plans.
