These establishments, or at least the one in Frisco, are massive. This would be a huge draw. I've never played at one, but I hear they're a lot of fun.

I'm hearing that they have their land and this is moving forward. Near downtown on the east side.

Awesome place!!!

Would be cool to have it in the est side and looking west at the skyline.

Any updates here?

Haven't heard any. The FB page supporting it has not posted anything since last June.

Interesting, early rumors had me guessing much closer to Gateway Park. I like this spot though, for a couple of reasons. That whole area would be great for development. It's right on 4 highways, has easy access to downtown or Riverside arts district via bike or car, the TRE passes through it so it could be used as another area for a station with some nearby downtown TOD, quick acces to parks just to its south, and it's right on the river. Would be great to see another Left Bank, So7, or Clearfork style development occur there. The other side of the river, where Martin House is, could benefit from it as well.
It's also a great location to view the skyline from. If the driving ranges face East, it'll be a pretty sweet backdrop with 777 Main, The Tower, and the Bass towers being fairly prominent. And the Purina Plant, which is'nt as pretty.

It's unfortunate they're building on the north side of 4th street instead of the south side of 4th street.
The view of our skyline will be blocked by Purina Mills north of 4th street, but wouldn't be blocked south of 4th street.

It doesn't look like it will face the skyline anyway, north is to the left in the below image.
That's a missed opportunity.

No, but I imagine a view of our skyline would've been a neat bonus. Oh well.

Would have been fun to hit balls at the skyscrapers for sure.

I believe they try to face North or South in effort to avoid the morning sun/sunset.

Ground has been broken on the project. Here's a link to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram article.

Kinda surprised they aimed it that direction. When hitting you'll have a view of... absolutely nothing. I missed the previous discussions about this aspect.
But very excited- can't wait to get a membership. Walking distance for me!

I noticed yesterday that the supports for the driving range net are starting to go up.
In somewhat unrelated neighborhood news, I was driving through around 6:30 and I was amazed at the crowd at the Martin House open house. Where in the world do all of those people park?

It seems that they park everywhere in the neighborhood west of Sylvania and many also park at the multi-purpose center across Sylvania.I noticed yesterday that the supports for the driving range net are starting to go up.

Martin House also encourages folks to park at Riverside Park (across from Smoke Pit) and take the short walk down the path to the brewery. There are also quite a few who Uber/Lyft.

In today's "Eats Beats" column from Bud Kennedy, Enchiladas Ole is discussed as moving from their current location on Sylvania to "a new retail complex yet to be announced south of Airport Freeway" while planning a second location, in Saginaw, to open this February.
This differs slightly from the print version, which doesn't mention the move but does mention a 'third' location in the same "new retail complex yet to be announced south of Airport Freeway," but with the additional descriptor of "near the new Top Golf"

This building looks very neat from the outside at night. The fancy colored lights were on this past Sunday night.

I went there every morning this week. It is very close to my house. It was great. Big get for the Riverside area.
They had the entire Dallas Cowboys team there on Thursday night on the VIP level.

Oh and I'm sure all the folks in "Keller" are not happy that it wasn't built in Alliance.

I think they really scored on the location too... it looks really cool sitting near the river. Better than the Frisco one that is just on a freeway service road.
I remember someone saying In the comments section of the Star Telegram, when it was announced, that they thought this was the worst place to build this. They commented that it should have been built near Hulen Mall or SW Fort Worth.
Posted 07 May 2017 - 09:00 AM
I also think it would have been a horrible idea. I don't live in the Hulen Area, but the area doesn't need any more traffic congestion. I also try to avoid driving north or south on Hulen or Bryant Irvin Road.

Oh, I don't know. If they couldn't get that parcel just north of Oakmont, they could have put it practically on the shores of Lack Benbrook. The spot they got was probably a better value though.
