I'm about as far from the Tea Party as you can get. And on this issue I completely agree with Andy and the folks who are investigating this fraud. This fraud cuts across party lines, and as we all know, most things in Fort Worth are "non-partisan." As long as you subscribe to the Fort Worth Way, 7th Street Gang, etc, you can call yourself whatever party you want.

I look forward to seeing some folks off to jail and being able to tell youngalum I told you so.*

* Oh wait, that's right, there's no real penalty for thousands of fake votes. And our State Legislators have once again adjourned without putting any teeth into the laws against voter fraud.

I believe that voter fraud, as to the extent that it happens, is far less pernicious as are voter suppression laws and tactics that are intended to defraud the franchise of voting.  Our current power center of state legislators is not interested in putting any teeth into encouraging the right to vote.

What I take to be the legitimate calls of outrage surrounding the TRWD election is that money from outside of the jurisdiction was contributed for the interest of another jurisdiction that turned a local issue into a regional issue.  Is it legal, probably so; but it certainly had the air of meddling into a local issue.

The original meddling in TRWD elections started from Mr. Bennett.  So for him and any of his so called supporters to cry foul that others besides his checkbook contributed is the height of hypocrisy.

The day that voter fraud actually results in an local, state or national election being changed is the day you can claim "I told you so"  The rest of these so called illegal votes has had NOT ONE election being overturned due to very small and very isolated events from making a difference.

it is like people saying crime and illegal immigration is up--it is down and has been in some cases for decades.  But, it is a simple issue that anyone can latch on as a cause to make themselves feel better about the changes this country is undergoing to minority-majority.

The term fake news is a trendy neologism and has nothing to do with my political affiliations. You seem to be getting your facts wrong. Constantly. The effort to replace the water board incumbents was backed by supporters of all stripes and affiliations. Lon Burnham was one of the people who lost their election to voter fraud and he is no tea party republican.

Looking forward to the first warrants in Tarrant county.

Not getting my facts wrong.  You lean tea party as did most of those who ran for the TRWD board backed by Bennett.  You may call yourself libertarian or freedom caucus, but the political leanings are all the same no matter what label one hides behind.

The majority of the effort and $ spent on the recent election and past elections have come from one man and his PAC to support his hand picked candidates.  That man is Mr. Bennett from Dallas.  Telling me that all stripes and affiliations supported the Bennett puppets elections is not really accurate.  If so, why are there no folks on the board now?  I tell you why, the whole platform Mr. Bennett and you support lost, bigly.  No amount of stomping your feet or calling me wrong is going to change verifiable facts from whom and where the majority of the donations that supported the hand picked puppets of Mr. Bennett.

The day that one election of consequence is over turned by a court because of voter fraud I will concede your point that voter fraud is an actual issue outside fund raising and silly activist rhetoric.  Isolated cases does not make a trend and voter fraud is one of the less common crimes in America statistically.  The GOP stance is nothing more than attempts to make it harder for people to vote.  Right now, you and others on this issue are just pissing on my leg calling it rain.

Finally, Mr. Burnham CLAIMS he lost by voter fraud.  He lost his court case in front of REPUBLICAN judges.  If there was something there, the Judges thru their GOP party would have found a way to let the lawsuit proceed.  The reason they didn't was as you know, NO Voter Fraud was found.  There is a reason that he lost, he claims a lot of BS and the voters grew tired of his shtick.

Top right of any page, click on your user name to open a drop down menu and click on "Manage Ignore Prefs".

Not sure if your post was directed at me or not, but my intention wasn't to troll anyone.  I was just making a little light of the fact that 1 arrest warrant being issued is being pointed to as evidence of widespread voter fraud and stolen elections.  I don't really have a dog in this hunt, but I do tend to agree with Andy on the idea that the water district board is out of control.

Ahhhhhhhh... I feel so much better.

Nope, not aimed at you at all JBB. I just can't tolerate the post-fact society we live in these days- I see enough on Facebook and don't need to see it here too.

Not specific to the TRWD elections. Texas along with several other states has a long proud history of election fraud. It would be naive to think that long history has died out in the last 30 or so years.

I'm not sure why my post quoted another author. It was intended to stand alone.
