A new 5 story, 128 guestroom, TownePlace Suites by Marriott is scheduled to start construction at 3477 Lovell Avenue.  The estimated start date is February 2016 and is supposed to be complete by February 2017.  Mayse & Associates, Inc. from Dallas is the architect.  The hotel will be on the southeast corner of Lovell Ave. and Kimzey Street.

Whew JTR, you scared me there for a minute with your description locating this new hotel near A -  The Botanic Gardens and B . - The FW Zoo.

The actual location, sandwiched between I-30 and CTP is thankfully barely visible from the Gardens and impossible to see from the Zoo. :swg:

I guess I should have tied it to the Chisholm Trail Parkway developments.  I wasn't sure if anyone knew where 3477 Lovell Avenue was located.

I googled.  I now realized that I have driven through there many times, connecting Rosedale to Vickery, vice versa. :swg:

Hmmm, That small area has actually become somewhat strategically located, with such close proximity to and access onto West Vickery, I-30, University Dr., and the Chisholm Trail Turnpike, not to mention spitting distance to the Cultural District and especially the new horsie arena, the zoo, TCU, Arlington Heights, The upper Westside, and ultimately DTFW. In this small area there is a signature BBQ joint, an exceptional fish place, and now three hotels more than 2 stories tall. Doesn't this place deserve a Unique Name? C'mon Listeros, put your thinking caps on! There is bound to be a catchy-phrase-place-name that will capture the essence of the new-found vitality and coolness of these 10 or 12 blocks. Within a week or two the newspaper will adopt whatever we decide on and before you know it that name will be able to be found via a Google Maps search of Fort Worth! OK, I will start...

I've got a few ideas:

"Wait - where is that again?"

"Not quite interesting"

The WC - "Who Cares?"

Part of the Alamo Heights neighborhood, I believe.

The actual platted name of that area is Brooklyn Heights.

I'm excited to see this area over the next few years. Ever since the toll road took the parking from the Creative Collection on the NE corner of Vickery and Montgomery, I've long thought this area has great potential for demo and development (w/a parking garage) to become a nice little semi-urban 4-block village. I would definitely keep Railhead, the Flying Fish, the barber shop, and antique store but everything else could stand to go.

I drive down Montgomery now and then.  I hadn't noticed this hotel until yesterday; suddenly it's going vertical *fast*. It may be up to its full height already (I would have guessed 4 stories, but maybe it was 5).
