Any thoughts or comments or other information on the Palisades?
My wife just got a new job and we where going to move to the Waters Edge in Lake Dallas but that is going to be to much of a commute to the hospital district in Ft Worth. This is my first post but I love reading all your insights on the best downtown in TEXAS!

Thanks for your time!

I wouldn't want to make that drive either.

I found this on the Palisades: http://www.palisadesfw.com/

The neighborhoods surrounding the Hospital District have all kinds of options for housing at a wide range of prices.

I know it would mean moving twice, but you might consider renting so you can examine all of the options...

I have been wanting to go in one of these Palisade Town homes. BobZupcic (Forum Member) was kind enough to ask me and Mrs. monee9696 over to check his place out. We walked over from The Tower this evening. Was very nice. Even nicer than I was thinking. Anybody that knows me knows I love tall places. And I am great with climbing stairs. (reserve that gym for guys that like to smell guys working out.) Not only are stairs pretty good exercise but to me, it gets me to what I live for. Being up high. And that is the case here. Floor one has a very nice view of downtown. By floor 3 and 4 (Large rooftop terrace) the view becomes spectacular. BTW that rooftop terrace is much larger than I thought just looking from my perch in the Tower. You could have 50 people out there. (That would be me and 49 nice ladies, in my dreams) Really a special place with a view. And a perfect platform for a tripod and a man obsessed with photography. (guilty as charged.)

Though we went at sunset, every sunset is different. Some more favorable to the camera. This night did not have a fantastic sunset but was way pleasant. (sunsets need a few clouds to be great.) Any way I took a few shots to share. What I really want to do is be back at this same place at dawn. (Fat chance of that as this young bachelor likely goes to bed at 4) But as he is a bit east of downtown, I can know that as the Sun just begins to illuminated downtown the view from that roof has to be way too good. BobZupcic has also got a new Rebel XSi. I expect he is going to provide us with tons of great shots. (one of my favorite shots of the year must be his picture of the Chesapeake Building decked out for Valentines.) I want to enter it in all the photo contests that he is not likely to see. Don't say anything to him.

The Townhouse itself is very nice indeed. As it has twice the square footage as my condo it seems pretty stink'n palatial. I had a large home in my previous life.
10' ceilings add to the spacious feeling. (And sure enough, the amount of stairs to climb.) BobZupcic had several upgrades to his place so I can't comment on the standard setup, but his place was great. Distressed wood floors, handsome granite kitchen, extra touches. Very nice. I can certainly see myself living there. It is even a nice distance from Sundance Square. (An extra small amount of exercise.)

Amazingly, I was so pre-occupied with the view from the roof that I did not think to get shots of the interior.

Here are my few shots from tonight. Not the best lighting for them. I challenge BobZupcic to do better.

Omni to the left.

You gotta love these Omni Condos.

Hey! That's my home over there... I had the Mrs. paint a green frame around our condo on 34.

I toured the models of this complex this weekend... I really liked them! We were concerned that with the ceilings being 2 stories high, the electric bill could get kind of out of control, but the man in the leasing office assured us that in August it averaged around $150. I thought the rooftop terraces were a really nice touch! smilewinkgrin.gif

Do any forum members live in these units? They look great and I like the floorplans a lot. Am interested in the property but have a few questions and want to hear what others have to say about the place.

What's the occupancy? Haven't seen much activity when I drive by...
Are the for sale units listed online? I saw several listed as a single listing but that isn't very helpful for price comparison, etc.
Any serious concerns with the property/builders?
Anyone have any additional pictures or a link to some? I've seen those posted by Fort Worthology but wondered if others have any.

I'm planning on dropping by for a visit but thought you folks might have some valuable info that the office might not tell me.
Thanks!

I've yet to hear anything negative about them other than a few folks concerning issues with noise pollution, guessing if that was a problem for you you wouldn't be looking downtown.

If I were looking at those places I'd walk the property about the time people get home and walk their pets, etc..., get to know potential neighbors and see what they think. Drive the area before and after work and on weekends and see how things are during those times of day.
