Big Frog II

I think it looks better in real life than it did in the drawings.

Went to the Botanic Gardens for the first time in years.  I couldn't believe how nice it was.  Place was absolutely packed with visitors on Saturday.  Enjoyed having the Japanese Garden open with the regular admission. 

They are still adding new plants along some of the new walkways, but plenty of things were in full bloom.  It was a pleasant way to spend an afternoon right in the heart of the city.  My grandkids really enjoyed seeing the dinosaur exhibit spread out through the park.  

If you are not a member, I recommend buying your tickets ahead of time if you are going on a weekend.

If I win one of the big lottery jackpots going on right now, I will donate enough money to get this thing done.  Keep your fingers crossed.

I'm curious about some of the sections show along the water. 

Like, is this not just a levee still? How are they going to make the walk along a ~30' pleasant?

 

This part looks like the section only along the bypass channel that the TRWD would still control.

Finally!

Looks nice.  Will look good on Lancaster.  Will bring more visitors to our city.  Disappointed we don't get a second tower mimicking the original condo tower.

Muckleroy and Falls has a good reputation.  It is quite possible that building held more surprises than anticipated.

Apparently there is a problem between the developers and the builders about the schedule and the bonds for the construction firm.  Don't know the details.

These people have no intention to develop this building any more than a cat.  They have used every excuse in the book.  It is time to put huge pressure on them to do something or sell.  We are just delaying the inevitable.  

This people don't have the money to fix this place.  It's too big of a project for them to pull off.  They will delay and delay and delay, but they will NEVER get this project completed.

TCU student killed in that area Thursday night by someone he didn't know or get in a fight with.  Perp walked up to him, asked him about the Perp's father, and then shot him 3 times, once when he was laying on the ground to make sure he was dead.  Police were nearby and heard the shots, but it did not stop the murder.  Fortunately the murderer was caught.  Sadly crime is ruining this area.

How many more years can this building go in this state before it is beyond rehabilitation?

I looked up the house on TAD and was surprised to see that TCU has owned it for almost 2 years. They must have been leasing it back to the previous owner or something like that.

They had to locate a home that would work for the previous owner.  They moved a year ago.  Then TCU had to get the zoning approved.  Thought they would have started after graduation, but here we are at the end of July.  Should be gone before school starts again.

There is now a Garrett Demolition sign in front.

It looks like the house in front of the new Ad Building is finally coming down.  There is fencing around the trees, the wood fence hiding the house from the Ad Building has been removed.  A small construction trailer has been brought in.

I don't see how in this world the Museums would object to this building from blocking their view.
