From a fellow surveyor in New York City:

QUOTE
Steel is near the twenty floor equivalent.
But, not your nice square erector set.
Lots of laterals and nodes to keep the steel surveyors busy.
Leica representatives are now working directly with the steel surveyors.

For scale, the building to the left is World Financial Center three, and the building in rear center is Goldman Sachs, both are +/-750 feet AGL. To the right, the shiny building is the rebuilt World Trade Center 7.
T-1 will be 2 and 1/2 times taller.

Beautiful! Thanks very much for the pics. I was in New York City in December, visited the site, and was encouraged by the progress of the whole complex. Much like the aftermath of the 2000 tornado that decimated downtown Fort Worth, on a grander and more epic scale, lower Manhattan is becoming stronger and more beautiful as a result of a terrible tragedy. Looking forward to a visit this autumn.

On my latest visit to Fort Worth, I went to the Amon Carter Museum and unexpectedly came across a fascinating exhibit called Hotel Texas about the Kennedy's last evening in Fort Worth before going to Dallas the next day.  They had several of the paintings assembled by the arts patrons of Fort Worth for the Kennedy's hotel suite on display in the exhibit including this one by Lyonel Feininger entitled Manhattan II:

The skyscraper in that painting completed in 1940 looks strikingly like the new One World Trade Center (especially towards the top). (Photographed with a cheap phone camera on my trip to NYC this past October 2013):
