Bridge over Fort Worth & Western RR / Creek (Midtown)

29 December 2023 - 10:00 PM

I am curious to know more about this old bridge structure over the FW Western RR back in here behind these hotels in Midtown.  It seems like quite a grand-looking structure that has stood the test of time, however, I'm not sure where to research this.  From HistoricAerials, it would appear the bridge was removed pre-1952 which is even more interesting.  Was this formerly part of W. Vickery Blvd or Pennsylvania Ave?  There's not really even a road shown through here at all anymore.  Was originally built over the creek before the railroad was put in underneath here and maybe that had something to do with removing the bridge in order to get the trains through and under the UP tracks and eventually the freeway?  Very interesting.
