The City of Fort Worth is asking itself for a variance (Board of Adjustment case BA-06-026) so to speak, to construct a 356 foot tall communications tower at the Bolt Street Public Safety facility. It will replace the 205 foot tower there now. Part of the rationale is the need for added coverage... a cost of sprawl? Could this be avoided through the use of repeaters scattered around the city?

this thing will be really tall!

I believe the tallest structures in Fort Worth are the Channel 5 transmission towers on Broadcast Hill in Meadowbrook. They are much taller than the city's tallest building. The second tallest structure outside of downtown is the communications tower at I-35W and Morningside Drive. I think it is about 560 feet tall, approximately the same as Burnett Plaza.
