Idk, Magnolia seems more fit for standard brick structures but a lot of the developments recently have been very cutting edge and colorful.

Austin, parts of Magnolia are located within the Fairmount Historic District, so the neighborhood's design guidelines and standards would apply for any of the new construction that falls within the district.  That explains the use of more masonry and less cutting edge design.

"Radical designs" would fit best on MagAv and Race.

This is proposed for Magnolia

That's what "MagAv" means.

Yes I knew what you meant... You said it would be better for MagAv and I was mentioning that it was going to be on Magnolia or MagAv as you have coined it. LOL

I’ve heard several younger folks calling it West Mag

Yea, Finally! I've been watching the construction across the street for some time.

Thanks for the post, but beyond it being a Southside development; it is more an "Art and Entertainment" thread story. :swg:

I'm sure someone will renovate and move into their building soon.  The area is up and coming.  The new streetscape has really improved things.

Not sure where else to post this, but I was wondering if anyone knows what's going on with the rail lines on the southside?  I noticed there seems to be a lot of rail construction/maintenance equipment along the tracks between Berry and Biddison (the tracks that run through South Hemphill Heights).  Any idea what's going on?

Rats.

I suppose that will open up another location along S Main for gentrified splendor.

What are you questioning?  There are two separate posts that were automerged (if that helps to clarify).

Could be just routine track maintenance, but there are probably a dozen pieces of equipment just south of Berry.

"Victory Forest project stopped after subcontractors claim payments are due from prime contractor"

http://fortworthtexa...-Forest-update/

Per Ann Zadeh at our neighborhood meeting on 3/23/17:

  • The original contract was terminated mid-march.
  • On March 24, the city attorney and bond company met at the site to estimate the remaining construction.
  • Parks and Community Services is ready to move ahead with programs as soon as construction is complete.  The director of Victory Forest Center was also in attendance.

Victory Forest is soft open and has a grand opening March 3rd. Looks like a lovely facility for the community.
