Anyone have any scoop on this? It looks like it's going in on 7th (across from the W7th development)in the space between Magee Architects and the coin shop.

Don't have any idea what it's going to be - maybe something along the lines of a Fuzzy's.(?)

Here's a pic I ran across.

Well this is what I heard about this place: looks like the owner is a Chicago foodie and apparently this will be his food playground. He is doing all the work himself with his family, this will be family owned and operated. They will be serving top quality fresh ingredients without being pretentious and focusing on Mexican street fare food. Tortillas will be made on site, made by hand on the spot as tacos are ordered. Tacos and other dishes will be something simple and authentic more on the Mexican side, not Tex-Mex so without the sour cream, cheese etc.. Lunch will be served daily in a traditional "Fonda" style 2-3 entrees for lunch Pre-Fix menu. Salsas will be made fresh daily, no canned ingredients. Seating will be more like a lounge, modern, casual atmosphere with down tempo and lounge music. It will start out as BYOB but will eventually have artisinal margaritas (made from scratch, extracting pulp from different fruits to create margaritas), premium tequilas, the type of tequila to relax, chill and sip. But in the beginning you will be able to take your tequila and they will make the margaritas for you. Opening Soon.

The paper has been taken off the windows and the tables are set. When are you, er, I mean, when are the people you heard about this place from opening? ;)

Thanks for the update.  It will be closer and easier to arrive for me after the move.

I think this will be a great location for their business... That little hamlet @ Park Hill & Forest Park can use an injection of energy. That's always been one of my favorite areas of the city.

As far as I can tell, Tommy's does real well across the street.

The key is having some outdoor dining.

I agree. It might be a challenge in that location since it would probably require taking away part of an already small parking area. Maybe they can utilize the area around the tree on the McCart side.

According to the S-T, the Forest Park Revolver location has closed.  The recently opened Dallas location is still operating.

That doesn't surprise me.  My co-workers and I were not impressed. We liked the food, but the service and decor left a lot to be desired. A lot of restaurants have come and gone in that location within recent years.

It seems he might not be a very good businessman.  Knows how to prepare food, but the business side is a failure.  I bet he has the same problems in Dallas.

BTW, Saparasti should have never changed its format.  It was typically always busy with a great wine selection with daily specials.

I feel like that location didn't leave a lot of room for error. It was not something you were likely to just stumble across.
