Johnny Rutherford would have attended Castleberry High School, but it didn't exist at that time. People in River Oaks and Sansom Park like Rutherford and Bob Schieffer attended North Side High.
By the way, Johnny Rutherford's personal car in the 1970's was a Jensen Interceptor. And i saw him a couple of times at a Nautilus health club on Camp Bowie Blvd at Wellington. One time an ABC sports crew was there taping a segment with him.
Former NBA player, coach, and general manager Mike Dunleavy also worked out at that health club. I think he was with the Houston Rockets at the time and his wife is from Fort Worth so that's why he spent time here.
I'm only saying what I saw. I didn't know these guys.

I found a quote mentioning a doctor who might should be on the list, if we knew who he or she was...?
"In Fort Worth, Texas there is a drug clinic which takes people off the streets and helps them get over bad LSD trips. They don't use any traditional medical treatment whatsoever. All they do is play the patient our Smiley Smile album and apparently this acts as a soothing remedy which relaxes them and helps them to recover completely from their trip." – Carl Wilson, (1970)

This interesting opinion piece by Don Woodard Sr. appeared in the Fort Worth Business Press recently. Woodard shares his memories of Jim Wright. During the period of 1950s to 1970s he rose from being mayor of Weatherford to U.S. congressman, and House Speaker. Though not a Fort Worth native, Wright is best known for representing our city in Congress.

Reynolds will join Roma on a six-month loan for an initial fee of 6.75 million euros (roughly $8.15 million), the Serie A side confirmed to Reuters, before completing a permanent transfer.

I mention Fes Parker, now deceased, only because I didn't mention him when he passed away a fears ago. The Parker family lived down the street (on Marks Place) from me when I was growing up. I was a fan of his when he starred in Davy Crockett movie and Daniel Boone TV show.

I was trying to think off the top of my head who else from Fort Worth (born and raised) that is still alive or who that currently lives in Fort Worth would be considered to have the most celebrity or widely known nationally or internationally? T.D. Jakes (lives in E. Fort Worth) and Kirk Franklin (from FW but lives in West Arlington) are two that came to mind.
I have no idea who they are.

I'd say Kelly Clarkson, if being born in Fort Worth and raised in Burleson counts as "from Fort Worth."

I think Kelly is the winner.

I could swear Kirk Franklin lives off Arkansas Ln in Arlington but maybe that's old information on my part. (I would post the link but it violates Forum rules.) but it is within a few miles of Jakes. TD Jakes lives off Meadowbrook in East Fort Worth, with full time security guards out front by the gate. They had a gas leak and explosion in one of their sunrooms a few years ago.
I also saw a really bizarre news report a year or so where an elderly man went to the bank with his adult daughter and something went awry and he jumped into the back of their SUV as she drove away and he shot her in the back of the head and crashed into the neighbors brick wall into the front lawn over next to the Jake's property. Very sad case. I imagine there's more to the story either mental decline on his part, family stealing his money or something but I'm going from memory.

Larry Hagman was born in FW but I think he grew up in Weatherford.
I think his dad was a judge in weatherford. I grew up in Fort Worth, but live in weatherford now.

Mtuggle, I believe you are correct. Larry Hagman had an interesting career. For someone who was a Hollywood star, it is interesting that he was born in Fort Worth, grew up in Weatherford, and died in Dallas.

My curiosity sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole. She was born Adrienne Ruth McClure. It looks like a couple of her sisters (Gladys & Jane) also made their way out west for acting careers. Sadly, Gladys died at 19 when a car she was riding in struck another car.
Their dad was the chief engineer for the Hotel Texas when it opened but transferred to the Baker Hotel in Dallas when it opened. He died there in a fall (from the 3rd floor according to one source, or the roof according to another).
One reference indicated a family relationship with a McClure Dairy Farms southwest of Fort Worth.
