Although not quite so obsessed with it anymore, I still enjoy seeking out 'rustic' locations and shooting them in sepia, giving the feel that the photo could have been taken 100 years ago (except for the modern vehicles and such in some of them!) For example:

Anybody else have this peculiar obsession with recreating the past??

Wonderful images. Great subjects as well as tonal quality.

It is really funny how when you draw the color out of a photo it seems to put it in the past. I always laugh when I think about times like in World War II, it is a black and white, like most of the images I have seen. Or I LOVE LUCY. I just really feel like there was no color back then. I always want to make a helmet with a B&W camera mounted in the front and a small LCD screen in front of my eyes where I can walk around in the past. (My workmates would be happy to tell you they have never known me when I wasn't walking around in the past.) That is because I don't have live sales data streaming across the bottom of my i phone.

Keep up this Modern Sepia thread. I will join in. Hopefully others as well. Great stuff.

This is how the Reeves-Walker House might have looked a century ago in black and white: :)

Nice shot and beautiful house Bruce! I love any house with a porch, especially the wrap-around variety.

At the risk of straying from the DFW area, this is a shot from Route 66 outside Victorville, CA (home before I wised up and got out!)

I made the short journey out to Decatur over the weekend and ended up with some more of these goofy sepia shots:

"Woody Cabin"

And last, a creepy house along Highway 380 - just in time for Halloween!!

I've added another couple "oldies" from last weekend, although I think I'm transitioning from sepia to B&W!
