Wells Fargo Bank have announced they will be moving out of the old North Fort Worth Bank Building on North Main to a new 6,000 square foot branch bank building that will be constructed on NE 28th Street.  Below is the article in the Business Press:

I know there's still one other tenant, but man would I love to see that building meet the business end of a wrecking ball.

I always liked that building but felt it was poorly sited. If the tall side had been built facing Main Street with some of the dimensional characteristics of the original buildings in the area (sidewalks, awnings, storefronts, etc.) and the roof sloped away to the west I think it would have been a pretty good fit for the neighborhood. Those cutaways in the roof could make for a couple of nice apartments if the owners wanted to try to redevelop that way. Maybe a couple of buildings built like that would be good fits for the hill that the Swift and Armour plants used to occupy...

I was never a fan of it, either.  However, it does have an interesting history.  If you look at Google Maps, you will seen the cut away sections of the building have a flat roof.  This flat roofed area is "L" shaped and has parapets across it.  This was an existing building that was expanded at least twice before the North Fort Worth Bank was built around it.  If you look at historicaerials.com, you can see this was an original one story rectangular shaped building that was expanded into an "L" and then the trapezoidal form was built around it.
