I didn't mean to take anything away from Vinny and Blackbox. I have zero doubt they were vital (as well) and probably have an appropriate amount at risk.
It just seems like several of the things that are unique and needed downtown (in my opinion) were spurred by Bass/Campbell/SS,Inc. Scat and Trinity Bicycle comes to mind. I have plenty of love for the other contributors to the urban core, but this one just wreaked of Bass Inc to me.
To Hannerhan's point, if they didnt want it here, it wouldnt be here. I hope this is the first of many partnerships for all involved. (Can you tell I am excited???)
I hear what you're saying, and I'm sure it's true.
Maybe I am naive, but....
Does that put anyone else off though? A major downtown attraction so controlled by a small set of individuals? I'm glad they signed off on it, but it would be great if their approval wasn't required to get things like this going.
