Near San Angelo, TX is the near ghosttown Sherwood. One of the highlights of the town is this courthouse built in 1900. When the Kansas City, Mexico & Orient Railroad bypass Sherwood, the town of Mertzon was formed and county seat was eventually moved there. The clockface was painted on and supposably represents the the time of Abraham Lincoln's death. One unique feature is an owl carved into the stone. Does anyone know the sigfinicance of this? Sorry for the quality of the photos. I didn't have a digital camera then, so they are scans of the originals.
Sherwood, TX

I found this on one of my favorite sites (besides FW Forum). It doesn't have much but says it can be used for special events. That's cool. I'd love to see it.
