I'd never heard of these, appreciate it. Enjoyed listening to them all. Gonna be sure to follow local indie more closely.

I was a big Oliver Future fan before they broke up...were they considered a Fort Worth band or Austin?

I don't have nearly as much time to explore new music as I used to, so I appreciate your suggestions.  The only Fort Worth bands I've listened to much recently are The Orbans, Telegraph Canyon and The Quaker City Nighthawks.

So has Diabolical Machines gone from a band of several women and one guy to a band with several men and one woman?

It's worth noting that 95.9 The Ranch recently got a new music director, and I have seen a clear shift toward including more alt country and cross-genre artists in the mix over the past month or two.  In the past you would never hear Old 97's, Uncle Tupelo, Wilco, etc. on that station, and now they're feathering all of them in.  They're also regularly playing Green River Ordinance and a couple of other local acts that aren't overtly honky tonk.  It's still clearly a country station but I thought that was worth mentioning.

What do ya'll reccomend is the best place get info on shows, events, etc and where is the best places to be to see bands?

Kevin, your signature is new. New projects?

Since you opened him, been following Doug Funnie. I've never been into rap to much but his stuff gets to me. He's got a new album out I guess. (Not a fan of the album art though...)

I can't get the FM signal in Haltom City, probably about 1 - 2 miles outside the target broadcast radius.

What a fun festival!

If you were to drive down West 7th yesterday, you would have noticed there weren't throngs of people in the streets club-hopping.  But the clubs told a different story.  They were all buzzing and some were packed.

Yesterday was the first time I've experienced West 7th Street as a walkable music district.  We easily walked from Trinity River Tap house to Lola's, passing Poag Mahone's on the way.  If I could have talked Mr. H into it, we would have headed back up Currie Street for Fred's.  The area still has a ways to go in terms of scaling for people, but I think we are finally starting to experience that progress.

It will take more of these types of festivals to really establish the area as a music district.  In the fall, we will be inundated with massive outdoor stage events.

A smart promoter would rethink this strategy and have a multi-venue event instead.

Oops, and Oh.

A little dyslexia creeping into my typing there. I remember hearing the Pirate while driving through Southside but I can't pick it up here in the northeast side so it sort of off my immediate radar. Local hometown coverage is great coverage when building a base. Good luck to all; e.g Missing Sibling, 97.1, 91.7, Southside Pirate, Pentacon Six.

Fun music video from duo Prizm, featuring lots of local spots. Great sound too.

They sound straight outta 1990.  Not bad.  The song that followed on Youtube was more of a dance number; I guess they make music for dance clubs?

When I searched for more information I found an article that called them a Dallas duo.  But they're from Fort Worth.  They used to play folk pop under the name Danni & Kris.  I saw them play at Avoca several years ago and they've played HopFusion several times.

The Library launched an incredible new service, with local artists and they get paid up front.

Awesome.

And its in align with Fort Worth expanding its cultural coolness which will draw more young people to the City.  Quietly and cleverly, Fort Worth is modeling itself as a rendition of Austin, Texas.
