I had a tough time with this one, but finally settled on the 'steps' - this is Red Rocks Amphitheater outside Denver

I got this one! Steps, handrails, rocks AND the scraggly trees! Just missing the dome... This is the entrance to Subway Cave (actually a lava tube) in Lassen National Park

Water flowing over natural steps - this is just upstream from Horseshoe Falls in Niagara - you can see the raging water beyond, headed toward its unavoidable drop!

I know I have some pictures of sea gulls somewhere, but I couldn't dig them up, so I just chose water and an architectural landmark.

Architectural landmark, water, and seagull!

[EDIT: p.s. this is the Trevi Fountain in Rome. I didn't know anything about it until we walked up to it, turns out it's one of the most famous fountains in the world... My reaction was "hey, this is pretty good! more people should know about this!"]

Nice one Russ!

Water and art in Paris that reminded me of home! I don't remember what the building was, but if you turn around from where I was standing, you'd be looking up at the Eiffel Tower across the street. Apologies for the naked guy on the left - I asked him to put on some pants, but he didn't speak English...

The previous image is from the Esplanade du Trocadero... named in honor of the Battle of Trocadero.
It sits atop a hill with fountains and park and has outstanding view of Eiffel Tower.
(I also thought of Fort Worth when I was there).

We had a layover in Paris ... basically had time to go to the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumph, the Champs de Whatsit, & back to the airport. So, I've "been to" Paris. I wonder what it looks like during the day? It's very pretty at night... they do a light show on the Eiffel Tower every hour or so - it kind of sparkles or flashes for a bit.

Sticking with the Eiffel Tower - here it is all lit up! We had just left the Louvre and were unaware of this light show - that coupled with being unfamiliar with a new camera led to this blurred image. It was much more spectacular (and clear) in person!

OK, this is really weak, but it is late. This is the Shelton Building prior to renovation and the tie to the picture above is a Texas Historical Marker.  The marker is on the front wall of the building at the corner.

Speaking of which, I am glad they finally removed the tarp from this building.  It was blowing all over the place and all ripped up - an eye sore.  Perhaps the city made them take it down since the Arts Fest is this week.  By removing the tarp, you can really see the work that has been done on the building.  I didn't get a photo of the building today and I'll be in Dallas tomorrow, so hopefully I can get a good shot of it on Wednesday.
