On Saturday, I attended the Dallas Legacies Conference, a yearly historical conference and seminar. The event was held in the newly restored Old Red Courthouse in Downtown Dallas. At the conference, I ran into quite a few local preservationist friends and met many new people. Even though the interior work is nearly complete, the rebuilding of the clock tower is still underway. I thought I would share a few pictures that I took. Scott Dorn also attended, and I'm sure he will have many more to add to this thread.

I took photos inside all of the rooms, but they are all fairly similar. The lower floors will house the Old Red Musuem, which will feature different eras of Dallas History. The upper floor feature a restored court room, a great room, which goes across the entire western side of the building and an unfinished room that highlights the building's construction. These 4th floor rooms can be rented out for functions and civic meetings.

The most significant interior feature of the building is the rebuilt grand stair. At one point in the building's history, it was removed and replaced with floors and offices.

Nice. From your photos, it looks to be quite elegant inside and out. Thanks for posting these.

Wow! Love the staircase. Any word on when the museum will open to the public?

That unifinished room is very interesting. I like the stairs. Are there rooms at the very tops of the turrets?

At one time, there were rooms and offices tucked inside the roof and the top level of the turrets. However, all of the attic has been converted to mechanical space for the building. This makes sense because all of the ductwork has to be located somewhere.
