An interesting article about the growth happening along 114 between I-35 and Grapevine:

I mainly was interested in posting this to see if this quote would make anyone's head explode:

It just goes to show you that good roads are good for business, said Tarrant County Commissioner Gary Fickes, whose precinct includes the area.

Sounds like a handout to developers.

Yes, good roads are good for sprawling suburban development.

I love how they want to be close to the airport but density near the airport, and thereby more places closer to the airport, seems unimaginable.

I drive down that road everyday. All I can ever see is a major freeway in that wide open gap even though it's not there...

Yeah, I can see the start of this already. I live in North Johnson Co. by the Chisholm and we are now at the " startup of small housing additions and larger rumors " phase. " See those new homes on the old XYZ ranch?" " Heard QT bought the land at the corner" etc.

Also seeing the initiation of infrastructure projects ( drainage, utility relocation, etc.)

The amount of traffic on the old country roads has increased to an almost dangerous level level since the Chisholm was completed as well ( usually on the weekends.)

Without deviation from the norm progress is not possible. F. Zappa.
