The NW corner has topped out. Got a good idea of the general shape now.

Getting closer. The yellow color is mostly completely applied. Along the the first floor, the stoops are each being painted by a local artist. You can see one on the right side.

Whats up with the bright color trim balcony on the new buildings? Home Depot has special clearance on yellow paint?

I suppose you have to be careful about which kinds of color you apply and on what parts of a building.  I think this matters more wih the facade of a commercial building, particularly a office building for professional tenants.  The objective of a multi-family residential structural design is to appeal to those who want to live there more so, perhaps, than the neighbors or the public at large.

More of the same on here:

"All of these apartments look the same!"

Someone builds something different with some diversity of materials and character:

"That looks too different!"

Some people aren't happy unless they aren't.

I get where youre coming from JBB, and although I dont mind the yellow on this builidng too much, I also dont think painting it yellow constitutes the building being different. Its just the same as all the other Pancakeplexes but with bright yellow trim.

I guess the concept of something being "different" isn't the same for everyone.
