Although I was delighted to find the great (if grainy) image of Ye Arlington Inn as a new addition to the Jack White Collection via the forum, when I contacted UTA Special Collections I learned that the photo is not there. ??? The photography specialist suggested that it may have been taken from the newspaper page (FWST August 21, 1965) rather than from a photograph.

I'm hoping to turn this image in along with an article I'm writing for the Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association newsletter, but would appreciate help from anyone who could tell me where to look next.

No doubt many of you have enjoyed looking at this. The credit underneath the photo indicates it is in the public domain.

Time is short; I was trying to get a good image by Jan. 7. Even if I don't, I'm interested for the not-so-immediate future, too.

Thanks in advance for any help, referrals, etc.

Did you check the negatives? Many of Jack's photos are not in print form, and are only filed away as negatives. The low quality of the photo leads me to believe that it may have indeed come from the newspaper page.

Another suggestion is that I could ask Jack. He is a member of this forum and he does check it from time to time.

I would be interested in reading your article. Any chance you would post it here?

I am fascinated by the history of this Chamberlain Heights development area. Any further history you could provide would be appreciated too! (photos too!)

Thanks!
