A contingent of North Texas leaders, including Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price returned from a trade delegation to China with additional high-tech jobs for the Alliance area in the form of a R&D facility and a North American headquarters for a Chinese wind turbine firm:

This should be great news for those interested in seeing Fort Worth remain a center for energy production and technology into the future, even after the end of the fossil fuel burning age

The announcement came during the meeting, made easy by the recent availability of non-stop air travel from DFW via AA to Shanghai and Hong Kong. AA of course hopes to increase service to China by adding Beijing as a destination next year. On the way back some of the Fort Worth delegation stopped in Japan to discuss high-speed rail plans and how Fort Worth might be part of those plans.

Next? Maybe a trade delegation trip to Germany to bring back home a solar panel plant and research center. Perhaps they could include more city council members this time, and have them ride the modern streetcars there. :swg:

It would be nice to see a wind turbine manufacturing facility located here to go along with the headquarters. I know of a certain railroad in the Alliance area that could serve the facility.

I'm not a subscriber anymore, so the article gets blocked. I take it from your response that a plant is part of the deal.

Cool. Those things like to ride on railcars. More work for me.
