I thought that I would try to promote cycling a little more in 2014 by posting some of the routes that I have ridden, or posting some of the routes that I plan to ride.  If you are a road cyclist, I would like to suggest that you come out and ride with the Fort Worth Bicycling Association.  I stepped down as President in September of 2013, after four years in that position.

This is a route that I rode with the club on Saturday, December 28, 2013.  It was a 41 mile route, and it started in Crowley and went southward from there.  The day was a little cool, but it was almost perfect.  Below is a link to the route at www.ridewithgps.com.

On Saturday, January 4th, I rode the FWBA Bicycles, Inc. Century of the Month More or Less.  I only rode 41 miles.  This Saturday, they are holding the ride again, and it is a special event in February.  I'm posting a link to the FWBA calendar listing to where you can take a look at the routes on RidewithGPS.com.

I also realize that I had not actually posted anything this year in this thread.  I have ridden the bike trail and the Benbrook Park Roads out to Whiskey Flats and this last weekend, I rode the Trinity Trails both Saturday and Sunday.  Unless I ride some in the evenings this week, it looks like my monthly total for January will be 151.1 miles.

Also, if you are looking for another special event, the Annual Super Bowl ride is Sunday.  That's where cyclists from all over the Metroplex ride their bicycles to the West End in Dallas to gather together and eat.  The Fort Worth starting point at the ITC in Downtown is the longest ride at 68 miles.  Other starting locations offer shorter distances.

So how long does something like that take?

That ride took us about 3 hours.  We did have one store stop at the 14.5 mile point.  We stayed there about 20 minutes.
