As 2016 nears an end,  it might be worthwhile to look back at some of the best discoveries over the past year.  Discoveries that have been unearth and have moved into the one of either or all these stages: planning, development, approval and construction.

My nomination for the best discovery of 2015-2016 is the following:

I'm not sure anyone here has seen or heard of this, but apparently there has been a suggestion of a 5 story hotel (and looks like other infill buildings on the other side) on Henderson between Mag. Ave. and Oleander from BBP Architects.

Magnolia%20hotel%201_edited_zps3wnspp9r.

Magnolia%20hotel%202_edited_zpslpc51jif.

If this was thrown out and rejected or the project fell dead, that would be a disappointment.
But if this concept is still alive, then I can't wait to see it become a reality.

Congratulations Jeriat; you unearthed a gem!

After three years of waiting, in August ground broke one the Victory Forest Recreation Center.  It will open in January.  http://fortworthtexa...ictoryforestcc/

Edit: I don't know if this qualifies as "best," but some of us Southsiders are really looking forward to this!

Our firm went after this project, but it was awarded to RPGA Design Group.
