Been a bit slow here lately, figured I'd start some discussion. 

 

Bought a new bike and took it out today. Did 16 miles on the trails and in the cultural district, had Salsa Limon for dinner. Nabbed a few pics along the way.

Yesterday?  Went to work, came home, watered plants, and watched TCU baseball.

Drove around Tower 55 in the wee hours of the morning trying to find the train I was called to relieve. You'd be surprised to see how difficult it is to find your way to all the little nooks and crannies around the tower, the post office and the T&P freight house in a van once you're off the streets. It didn't help that the inbound crew didn't know how to describe where they were. It was an adventure exploring an area I thought I knew pretty well.

Assuming my generic suburb counts, I rode my actual bike to the closest recreation center to ride a stationary bike there.   

 

In my defense, it's too hot outside to be exerting myself much on my regular bike.

Is this some kind of complex?  Just answer the post if you want.  Nobody cares if you live in a suburb.  Knock yourself out.  The forum has seen more action today than any day in the last month.

 

I drove in from my generic suburb, worked, had lunch, took a work related trip to the Stockyards, drove home, ate dinner, and I'm watching the Ranger game.

I'm not attacking. It seemed like you're just begging for someone to tell you not to post.  As if we need that around here right now.  Unless something's changed recently, the guy that started the thread lives in a suburb.

Nothing exciting for me yesterday, work all day, usual walk downtown with my doggie in the evening. One phone photo to show for it.

Early yesterday evening, around 6:30, I rode my bike from my office downtown south on the Trinity Trails to the SW Boulevard bridge, almost 9 miles.  Bike is getting old and rickety and the rear tire's getting bald.  If you happened to see a guy with a soiled blue ball cap with white tea shirt and tan shorts on this rickety bike, that was me.

I commend you for riding your bike that far to work in this heat. The older I get, the more brutal it feels. I drove a car without A/C for more than 10 years until last June and I'm not sure how I ever did it that long without losing my mind.

I commend you for riding your bike that far to work in this heat. The older I get, the more brutal it feels. I drove a car without A/C for more than 10 years until last June and I'm not sure how I ever did it that long without losing my mind.

It's not really that bad on the Trinity Trails.  Bring a water bottle for drinking and splashing on face.  Stop as much as you need to and sit under one of the shade trees.  If necessary dip your feet in the clean flowing waters of the Trinity River.  The other evening (the subject of this thread, I guess), the wind was blowing so that helped with body temp, and the sun was not as strong.  There are also good eateries and drinkeries along the way.

 

 I'm riding home from work again today, this time starting out at around 1:30.

What did we do today?  Well we work 7 days a week.  Some days we have a lighter work load activity that the other days.

 

Summer:

Got out of bed at 7am... 7:30am had breakfast by the pool.  Changed from my wet bathing suit into a dry bathing suit +polo shirt and shoes. Walked 50 feet to our company office by 8am.   Logged into Austrian company forum and began the day's Panorama Virtual Tours software forum Euorpean/ UK technical support.   Lunch at 12 noon (7 pm in Austria) followed up with a pool break.  Our software users are around the world so we picked up after lunch time tech support for the USA, Canada, Mexico, South American clients. Followed by a short pool break before dinner.  Followed by tech support for our FAR Eastern/ Australian clients.

 

Winter:  

Same work schedule as summer... except no pool and we wear Jeans, polo shirt +socks in the winter time.

 

Hard days work.  Log off usually around 7pm.

 

OH did I mention that it is good to be retired.
